About Us
Since 1992 we have provided design, manufacturing, installation, automation and operation services in water and wastewater treatment.
Makro Çevre Koruma ve Endüstri Tesisleri San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. (Makro Environmental Protection Industry & Trade Co. Ltd.) was founded in January 1992 in OSTİM, Ankara, by Şölen Şen, M.Sc. Mechanical Engineer, who has worked in treatment plants since 1983.
Our principles have not changed since day one: sound design, near-zero defects in manufacturing and full customer satisfaction. Design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, automation and operation of wastewater and clean water treatment systems are our core competencies.
Our registered product, BİO-MAK® package wastewater treatment plants, treats domestic and industrial wastewater across a wide capacity range. Most of our systems are custom designed and built, while customers may also choose from our standard models.
We broaden our range by supplying water purification systems, chlorination units, dosing pumps and various industrial equipment and instruments, meeting every need at home and abroad.
With more than 100 million cubic metres of water treated so far, we have helped improve the quality of life of hundreds of thousands of people. The sense of responsibility and quality shared by our whole team, from workers to engineers, makes us a preferred partner in Türkiye and abroad.

Our founder Şölen Şen began working in water treatment.
- 1992
Makro Çevre was founded in OSTİM, Ankara. First major works: mechanical equipment for İller Bankası drinking water plants.
- 1997
Design and equipment of the 72,000 PE wastewater plant at İncirlik Airbase.
- 2000
BİO-MAK® plants for TEAŞ thermal and hydro power plants; 40,000 PE plant for Çolaklı Municipality.
- 2005
Large camp and airbase plants in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- 2010
New projects in Libya, the Maldives, Northern Cyprus and Africa; design of the 50,000 m³/day Benghazi plant.
- 2016
Turnkey 12,000 m³/day Ölüdeniz plant for MUSKİ; TANAP pipeline camps.
- 2021
Balıkesir and Aydın industrial zone plants; stadium projects in Senegal and Cameroon.
- 2022
Arsin and Of drinking water plants in Trabzon: about 37,000 m³/day in total.

We keep growing with municipal, industrial and international projects.

Our production facility in OSTİM
We manufacture our mechanical equipment and package plant tanks in our workshop in the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone, Ankara. Welding, assembly and function tests are completed here before shipment.
